Happy November!!!! This year is flying! I feel like I say this in all of my intros lol. Ahh so crazy!
So last week, (Thursday, October 30th to be exact) I had the pleasure of attending my first Fashion Happy Hour which took place at LMNT Studios. If you’re not familiar with this event, it is basically a monthly happy hour for designers, artists, bloggers, beauty enthusiasts/makeup artists, etc. to network, sip, and shop. If you fall under any of these categories (or just love any of the above), this is a great monthly event to meet others in the community who have a passion in similar interests as you do. This was my first time attending and pretty sure it won’t be my last. Feel free to check out their website for detailed information on the event, schedules, and pics!
It was a fun night! One of my great friends did the honors of accompanying me to the event. I was prepared (I’ll share this soon…good news!) and really looking forward to see what the night had in store. Upon entering, the first station that caught my attention was of course accessories. I’ve said this before, accessories are my obsession. I JUST LOVE THEM! The name of the company is C’est La Vie Accesorios, where I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Daniela Ruiz. The accessories are all handmade and so pretty. Here’s a direct link to their Instagram if you’re interested in seeing some merchandise @clvaccesorios.
My friend and I made our way to the bar (duhh), grabbed ourselves a drink and continued to look around to see more. I came across Ashlie Redmond, which carries a unique classy line of purses of all styles. Next up was Jadis, a women’s clothing boutique located in Coral Gables followed by the cutest nail station offering mani’s to anyone interested. To the right was La Sirena Hair Studio, where I met Melissa Morte. She explained how she is a certified colorist for Pravana and showed us the vegan hair products they offer at the salon. I got to see Melissa in action as she styled a young girl’s hair.
On the opposite side was a marshmallow and cake-pop station (yum) followed by makeup artist Shelby Thomas. Although she was busy applying makeup on someone, she quickly stopped to introduce herself and advised us about her being certified in eyelash extension application. She handed out a home-made lip scrub (made by her) to everyone who visited her table. I haven’t tried it yet, but can’t wait to try it out! There were a great amount of different vendors and artists from swimwear to accessories to art. All offering something for everyone’s liking.
I caught up with Wardrobe Stylist, Lashannon Petit, who gave me great advice on blogging and the fashion industry. I love meeting people who are open to conversation and helping others. Thank you again for the tips!! ❤
Events like these are what motivate me to keep striving for my dream. It is an inspiration to see others in the same bubble as yourself, how they network, and to know a little bit about their journey. You never know who you are going to meet and the good that can come out of a simple conversation. Everyone always starts somewhere and it is a reminder that we are all capable of accomplishing our goals. Let’s support one another and have fun while doing so!
