If my previous post wasn’t convincing enough, during my recent trip to New York, I tried my best to style outerwear and other pieces according to season and current weather conditions. Here’s to new experiences and a cool, new puffer coat!
– SHOP THE LOOK –
You may be wondering, how could I possibly embrace winter in New York in such a simple outfit? Underneath it all, I made sure to layer properly with a thick ribbed sweater and for some extra warmth and functionality, this Calvin Klein puffer jacket. I was exploring the Dumbo area in Brooklyn along with my photographer and his girlfriend, surrounded by water, an amazing view of both the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, and a strong frozen chill lol.
I always had the misconception that I’d feel bulky and heavy with a puffer coat. When it comes to compromising comfort for style, I’m particularly selective about it. Luckily, this was not the case with this coat. With a soft interior and lining, dual side pockets and the obvious faux-fur trim hoodie, I was snuggled up and warm. I found that by keeping the hoodie over my head, the faux fur would protect my ears from freezing and my face from feeling like it was going to stiff up.
Honestly, if I wouldn’t have invested in great quality outerwear my experience would not have been the same. As I sit and reminisce currently in 82 degree Miami weather, I can’t help but wish I could wear my coats here *wishful thinking*. I hope you’re all staying warm or cool wherever you are! Happy Winter!
