Versatility is the main objective on my mind when I shop for new pieces. As I move around contemplating on a purchase, a million and one ways cross my mind on how I can get the most wear out of an item. If that’s the case, it comes home with me.
If you ask me, the comeback of bell sleeves is the next best thing after the off-the-shoulder movement. Sometimes all you need is a simple flare.
If you’ve been keeping up with my Instagram feed or Snapchat, this “surprise” won’t be much of a surprise to you. In case you’re not sure what it is I am referring to, I’ve been keeping a little (ok, a BIG) secret for TWO months and finally announced the amazing news the day of through my social media.
Recently, I made a pretty impulsive decision. One that I knew would change my life, career, and perspective indefinitely. Experiencing fashion week has been a lifelong dream of mine, along with traveling alone at least once in my life. One night at about 3-something a.m., being the night owl that I am I began to browse the web for flights as getting away seemed like the right thing to do. With fashion week around the corner, going to New York was cutting it too close from the night I was doing this little research, so I thought “Which city showcases fashion week shortly after NYFW?”. Not even an hour after switching back and forth from tab to tab, I checked my bank account to reassure I had the proper funds and booked a flight to London.
Embracing change, whether physical, mental, or emotional, has been a new practice for me in which for once I am enjoying. In case you were wondering, I recently had a few inches of hair chopped off, and something about recent gray, gloomy days and shorter hair that are inspiring me to live freely.
Early birds chirping in the morning, sunny skies, and windy afternoons. Yep, Spring is definitely peeking it’s way through Miami. Being the kimono queen that I am, adding a fresh new style to my collection each season is a must. This pre-Spring outfit has ME written all over; fringe, kimono, florals, and open-toe booties! Need I say more??
Fringe often makes me want to do the Twist, because I love watching the tassels shake from side-to-side. The color scheme on this floral print kimono is a unique combination that impeccably compliments Spring time (and oh so tropical). If we’re being honest here, this may just be one of my favorite kimonos by far. Best part? You can also find it available in black here. Now, a denim button-down skirt is a classic piece that should be part of every girl’s closet. Comfy and stylish with dual side pockets, this baby will remain at the front of my clothing rack in the months to come.
