Winter Shoe Must-Have: Ankle Boots

Stuart Weitzman Black Leather Flat Ankle Boots

It’s pretty obvious boots are typically the choice of shoes during the winter season; from over-the-knee to combat and everything in between. A popular must-have boot style at the moment are ankle boots, sitting slightly above the ankle yet below the calf. Ankle boots are the perfect, subtle upgrade to booties (which don’t provide much coverage for cooler weather). (more…)

Tribal Monochrome

I can appreciate a long, cozy cardigan any given day. Now, add a cool tribal print to it and some fringe and you’ve got yourself a trendy winter piece! There’s no doubt I knew I HAD TO HAVE this super soft cardigan that I accidentally found hiding in the Forever 21 clearance section. This particular day, F21 was offering BOGO with the purchase of each clearance item. So technically, I got this little gem for free 😉

ABOUT THE LOOK

Cardigan: Forever 21 (similar here here) | Dress: TJ Maxx (similar here & here) | Shoes: a.n.a. (similar here) | Headband: ASOS | Purse: Aldo (on sale!) | Earrings: Forever 21

The cascading open front and ribbed cuffs take this cardigan from basic to effortless and chic reaaaal quick. Not to mention my favorite part, some fringe detailing. I love how incredibly soft and lightweight it feels. You can certainly pair it with a dress, long sleeve top + jeans or leggings. Long cardigans are here to stay, go ahead and treat yo’self!

Cozy Grays ❄️

IMG_3408

When the skies are gray and the breeze feels icy, dressing cozy and comfortable is a winter-day well spent. The temperature has finally started to drop in Miami! *yay* Maybe its because January is my birthday month, but I am very fond of chilly weather. Although, it can be a struggle to stay productive because all you really want to do is snuggle at home watching movies and eating munchie food (don’t lie!).

On such occasions, grab the first pieces of warm clothing you can find. Don’t make it difficult, that’s where the overthinking comes in. An oversized sweater like this is basic and super comfy. Stay away from denim, as it really doesn’t help keep warm and can feel tight/stiff. Instead, opt for a pair of knit sweatpants like these heathered gray ones. They are seriously ideal! The drawstrings make them easy to slip-on without much work. I love the relaxed vibe, so wearing a sweet set of kicks is a no-brainer.

ABOUT THE LOOK

Sweater: Gap (similar here & here) | Sweatpants: Forever 21 Plus (similar here & here) | Shoes: Nike Air Max 1 Ultra

Personally, I find gray is the perfect neutral as it isn’t too dark or light. It really keeps the look cool and collected. Making some effort in the beauty department can truly change your attitude and ready to take on the cold, gloomy day. If neutrals aren’t your thang, seek a printed sweater or colorful accessories (hat, scarf, gloves).

Whether you absolutely have to run an errand, go to class, work (depending on dress code), make the best out of these winter days. Grab some coffee or tea and forget the laziness!

Drea
